11th annual VSA Golf Exhibition with Steve Stricker

WHAT: VSA Golf Exhibition with Steve Stricker

WHEN: August 18, 2008

WHERE: Cherokee Country Club, Madison

WHY: The event supports the VSA Art Center in Madison where individuals with disabilities participate in specially designed programming in visual art, dance and movement.
In the first 10 years of the VSA Golf Exhibition with Steve Stricker, more than $425,000 has been raised to support the VSA Art Center.

The format is a golf exhibition rather than a tournament. The pros play nine holes with representatives from Event Sponsors (2008 Event Sponsors: Cherokee Country Club, Clack Corporation, Mid-West Family Broadcasting and WPS Health Insurance); luncheon guests may join the gallery and follow along in carts to watch the golf exhibition.

Golf carts will be provided for luncheon table guests to follow along as part of the gallery and watch the golf up close.

· 100% of the event’s tax allowable donations go to support the VSA Art Center.

· The VSA Art Center is celebrating 10 years of arts programming for Madison area residents with disabilities.
· Professional teaching artists conduct programs in multiple formats and disciplines including music, dance, drama, creative writing, and visual art.
· The Art Center encourages arts exploration in a failure-free atmosphere for both children and adults with disabilities.
· This year, more than 1,000 individuals with disabilities will participate in more than 2700 hours of programming at the Art Center.
· Our mission is to expand the capabilities, confidence and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by providing programs in dance, drama, creative writing, music and visual arts.
· VSA arts of Wisconsin is a member of the international network of VSA arts, an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
