We seek to employ Teaching Artists

  • Musicians, music teachers or music therapists
  • Dancers, dance teachers or movement therapists       
  • Visual artists, art teachers or art therapists
  • Theatre practitioners, theatre and drama teachers or drama therapists

Our artists and/or educators are passionate about what they do and excited about sharing their skills to stimulate imagination, encourage creative expression and engage people with a wide range of abilities. They are the instrument of inspiration and exploration, using variety and adaptations to conduct the following:

Madison VSA Art Center

1 hour classes, 1 evening a week for 7-10 week sessions for a group of 8-12 adults. Monday–Thursday 6-7 pm, although other times may become available.

Statewide Artist Residencies

10-30 hour programs at:

  • Early childhood learning sites
  • K-12 schools
  • Community centers (adults)

Artists are encouraged to propose, develop and deliver creative opportunities that promote our mission to expand the capabilities, confidence and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by providing programs in dance, drama, creative writing, music and visual art. We are an AA/EOE.

This contracted position reports directly to our Program Director. Submission of forms does not imply or guarantee a position. Assignments are determined by the artist’s stated interest, level of experience, availability, location and arts discipline.
